The Wages of Pain (aka Las Piedras) is the fourteenth mission of Desperados III.
Description[]
Stranded in the middle of nowhere, the gang's only chance of survival is a nearby train station.
Loading Story on Start[]
Having freshly escaped from DeVitt's gold mine, the gang finds themselves battered, bruised and low on morale.
Doc's departure weighs heavy on everyone, and the fact that he took the only available horse with him doesn't help things either.
Regardless, they have to make their way to the nearest town with a train station, making slow progress due to Cooper's injured leg.
When they arrive, they take shelter in a ruined house just outside of town.

After the escape from DeVitt's mine, Doc is fed up with the current situation and decides to continue on his own. The others head for the nearest train station.
On arrival, they find the place occupied by DeVitt men. What's more, it seems like none of the trains actually halt at the station.
While Isabelle heals Cooper's leg, Kate and Hector look for a way to stop the train.
Their plan is to block the tracks, then hitch a ride on the next train so they can all go home.

Trivia[]
- Internally, this mission is called "pueblo".
- There is a particular area with a tower and a haystack below it. If the player jumps on the haystack from the top of the tower, a hawk screech will play. This is a reference to the Assassin's Creed series, where the player character can perform the so called "leap of faith" by jumping from high places and land safely and unscathed on haystacks.
