Running Late on Payday (aka Byers Pass) is the second mission of Desperados III.
Description[]
A train owned by the influential DeVitt Company is on its way to the town of Flagstone. At Byers Pass, it runs into an unexpected roadblock.
Loading Story on Start[]
Running on freshly laid tracks, a heavily loaded train snakes along the Rocky Mountain landscape.
Its wagons—bearing the sign of the DeVitt Company—have been freshly loaded in Denver and now carry people and goods towards the small mountain town of Flagstone.
As the train enters Byers Pass, mood among the passengers grows uneasy. Bandits are roaming these parts, and the company has lost more than one train in recent months.
Maybe the mercenaries hired to escort the train will be enough to deter any attackers this time.
Loading Story on Savegame Load[]
John Cooper is sitting on the train to Flagstone, when suddenly, at Byers Pass, his ride is ambushed by bandits. He remains undetected, but the task ahead is clear.
If Cooper wants to keep his appointment in Flagstone, he'll have to take care of the bandit problem first.
