"That Wayne must be a good friend if you're goin' to all this trouble." ― Hector
"There was a time when I'd have done anything for money. I mean anything! Wayne pulled me outta that hole. I owe him." ― Isabelle[1]
Marshall Wayne is a recurring non-player character in Desperados III. He is a deputy marshal in New Orleans and an old friend of Isabelle. In the past he helped her get out of a time when she would do anything for money.[1] After getting captured during an investigation related to DeVitt he gets freed by the crew and continues on the help them with capturing DeVitt and finding Frank.
Plot[]
Before the crew meets Isabelle in Louisiana Voodoo, Wayne was looking into three men connected to DeVitt in regards to cases of disappearing people.[Note 1] During his investigation he tries to break into a DeVitt company storehouse and search for clues but gets captured by Frank.[2]
When we meet Isabelle, she is on her way to meet Wayne in New Orleans and help with the investigation. After not finding him at the aggreed meeting point, Isabelle starts searching for him together with Kate and McCoy. Following some clues, they eventually arrive at the storehouse where Wayne got captured and find information pointing to him being held captive at the Queen's Nest. The crew then follow Isabelle to the nest where they free Wayne, burn the abandoned steam ship serving as the bandits' hideout, and flee using a boat.
A while later, after escaping from DeVitt's Goldmine, the crew meets up again with Wayne to discuss a plan for capturing DeVitt at his party at Casa DeVitt. Following his successful capture in A Captain of Industry, Wayne finally takes the tied up DeVitt with him on a horse to bring him to justice while the crew continues on to confront Frank in the last mission.
