High Stakes is the sixth chapter in Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive. In it, you take the role of Cooper, Sam and Doc as the three attempts to save Kate O'Hara from being thrown to the sharks.
Overview[]
In this level, you have to save Kate from being thrown overboard. To do this, you have to make your way to the boat, unlock the door with Doc, untie Kate, and ride out of town as soon as possible.

In the town of Baton Rouge, poker player, Kate O'Hara played poker with a group gentleman.
Arriving at the final pot, Kate O'Hara decided to cheat by covering her seven of hearts with a queen of hearts she secretly held. Kate called out the table, asking the others to reveal their hand. The first man had pair, the second folded, while the third had two pairs. Agreeing to show her hand, Kate showed a full house, making her the winner.
As she reached out to collect her winnings, one of the other poker players released that Kate had cheated and held her at gunpoint. Accepting her discovery, Kate surrenders to them, calling the poker player 'a poor loser'.
Story[]
Arriving at Baton Rouge, Doc questioned if Kate was truly here. Sam countered, by telling him that the poker posters were far too hard to resist for someone like Kate. With that, John decided to go look for her on his own. Before entering, the sheriff ordered John to leave his gun behind; he obliged. Meanwhile, Kate was slowly being transported to the steamboat at the dock to be thrown overboard.
John arrived at the Saloon and went to the bartender to ask for Kate's whereabouts. At the mention of the name, the bartender scolded him and told him about Kate's fate. He also told him that the town doesn't like friends of criminals either.
John turned around to see that he was surrounded. Thinking quickly, he knocked the observers out and climbed to the second floor. Getting on the balcony, John jumped on a horse at ground level and used it to reconvene with Doc and Sam. Seeing him leave the area, the sheriff ordered his deputies to scour for them.
John made it back to his companions and explained to them what was going on. He came up with a simple plan, get to the steamboat, save Kate, and ride out.
The three used their skills to surpass the guards and eventually got to the boat. As they entered the boat, a guard sounded the alarm, forcing the team to deal with the ambush. After freeing Kate, the four escaped the town as quickly as possible.

Objectives[]
- Get aboard the paddle steamer and rescue Kate, who us being held captive somewhere on board!
- Get the horses and leave town fast!
Notes[]
- You don't have to have all three characters enter the steamboat to trigger the trap.
- You can leave the snake on the top side of the steamboat ladder to make it easier to get out of the ambush; for one of the guards will be killed while climbing the ladder.
- If you go next to the salon, you may actually glitch inside.
