Hector Mendoza is an American trapper and former member of Frank's gang who later joined John Cooper's gang in Desperados III.
Personality[]
Once a bad guy but with a heart of gold, Hector was part of Frank's gang as an elite long coat. After Frank dueled kid John Cooper and killed his father, James, Hector was tasked to kill the kid and throw both bodies away. He instead helped young John escape the jaws of certain death.
At a certain point in time as John grew up, Hector became a bounty hunter and started looking to get revenge on Frank. Hector is right beside Cooper to provide any help he can.
Special Skills & Abilities[]
Hector's abilities are similar to Sanchez.
As melee weapon he carries an axe which he can use to kill an enemy at close range. Unlike other characters, Hector is able to kill Long Coats with his axe, although it will take longer than killing regular enemies.
- Alternatively, he can use his fist to knock out an enemy which also works against Long Coats.
- He also carries a bear trap which he calls Bianca. It is invisible to enemies and immediately kills them when they step on it. It only kills one enemy before it needs to be set up again and after placing it Hector needs to pick it up for the next use. Long Coats are able to notice the trap and disable it.
- In some missions Hector's trap is replaced by a rake that works similarly but knocks enemies out instead of killing them.
- To help bringing enemies into his trap, Hector can whistle to create noise, luring any enemies in range to his position.
- Starting from the 5th mission, Hector also carries a sawed-off shotgun with him which is capable of hitting multiple enemies in range but creates massive amounts of noise.
- Finally, he carries a flask of alcohol with him which he can drink to fully heal himself. The flask has unlimited uses but can only be used by Hector. When he drinks from it while connected to an enemy by Isabelle the enemy will get knocked out.

Hector can climb ladders and tie up enemies. He is strong enough to carry two bodies at once and even run with them. He can also throw them a short range, knocking out an enemy when hit. When already carrying one body and trying to pick up another unconscious person he is able to pick them up without tying them up first.

- Hector was born in Texas.
- During the Baron Challenge, "Bear Trap Triplets", Hector has access to two additional bear traps aside from Bianca, which are called "Camilla" and "Lucia".
