Deaths Overture is the twenty-fourth mission in Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive. In this mission, the group finally entered El Diabo's hideout.

Overview

You're here. You're at the El Diablo's hideout. You got caught, but there is still a way to get out of here. Take control of Mia and use Mr Leone to catch the guard's attention. When the guard comes to the cell, use John to knock out the gurad. Get outside the prison and go after El Diablo.

Cinematic

The 6 members of the group walk into the entrance of the cave and look around cautiously for any traps or El Diablo's men. However, two iron gates are suddenly dropped, locking the group in one place. Next, a green gas starts moving into the area. John, Kate and Sanchez cough and collapse. The cinemetic fades black and cuts to a few moment later after the gas disappeared. All members of the group lie unconsciously on the floor. A hooded figure, seemingly to be El Diablo, appears and orders his henchmen to remove all weapons from the group, take Sanchez to him and leave the other to rot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBg46tjDyEM

Story

The group entered El Diablo's hideout. However, unbeknown to the group, El Diablo hid trap at the entrance of the cave. The trap activated and locked the group. A green gas is then released to the group. When inhaling it, they became unsconsious and fell down. A few moment later, El Diablo came to check in. He commanded his henchmen to get rid of all the group's weapons and bring Sanchez to him. He and his henchmen left with Sanchez, leaving John, Sam, Doc, Kate and Mia in the prison.

Once Sanchez awakened, El Diablo asked him to join his force again, promosing power and people. Sanchez angrily detested this idea and told El Diablo to go to the devil. To which, El Diablo replied that he, himself, is the devil. Back to the group, they also woke up. Sam and Doc expressed disappointment that they came so far only to get trapped. John encouraged them that they must not give up and must find a way to get out of here. Mia suggested maybe Mr Leone could help them. She sent Mr Leone to make the guard come close to the prison door. The guard came and looked at Mr Leone. Due to this distraction, it allowed John to knock the guard out, stole the key and unlocked the prison cell.

The group slowly made their ways around El Diablo's cave, collecting all their stolen weapons and killing El Diablo's henchmen inside, including many deadly Demonios knife throwers. They reached Sanchez and El Diablo. They were able to rescue Sanchez, but before they could catch El Diablo, he ran away. With everyone on the team, they went after El Diablo. They saw El Diablo stepped carefully on tiles in a strange pentagon floor before a gate open, only to close after El Diablo entered. They proceeded to follow El Diablo, but found that if they stepped on a wrong tile, the wall would shoot arrows at them. Luckily, they remebered how El Diablo walked, followed his path and opened the gate.

As they ventured deeper, they found El Diablo using an elevator to go up. He, then destroyed the elevator system to prevent the group from reaching him. Fortunately, there is some climbable rocky wall to reach the top. John, being the only one who can climb, decided to go after El Diablo by himself. Seeing John climbing toward him, El Diablo quickly ran and hid in another room.
